T&R Bulletin 5-07: Guideline for the Site-Specific Assessment (SSA) of Offshore Wind Farm Jack-ups (2024)

This GUIDELINE identifies the key factors for the Site-Specific Assessment (SSA) of jack-up units used in the construction, operation, and maintenance of offshore wind farms. It also gives recommendations on the application of the existing ISO SSA standards (developed for jack-ups operating in the oil and gas industry) to jack-ups operating in offshore wind farms. SSA is the process of checking if the jack-up at a given location meets structural and foundation acceptance criteria in accordance with accepted industry practice for the installation, elevated, and removal conditions. This GUIDELINE has been developed in a collaborative manner by representatives of offshore wind developers and their supply chain partners working in a Joint Industry Program (JIP) entitled Jack-up Renewable Energy Guidelines (J-REG).
