SC-3 Fishing Systems aims to foster and enable:
- Alignment of fishing vessel systems to reduce engine greenhouse emissions and CO2. While fishing vessels are typically below the IMO EEDI (Energy Efficiency Design Index) their numbers and daily fishing activities make them a worthwhile subject for investigation.
- education in engineering as it relates to the sailing craft industry,
- research and development in naval architecture, marine engineering, ocean engineering and other marine fields specifically relevant to sailing crafts.
