Thanks to a generous donation from Anil Raj, SNAME has established the Anil Raj Medal for Maritime Innovation to recognize outstanding innovation in the U.S. maritime industry, academia, or government.
The Anil Raj Medal for Maritime Innovation will be awarded annually to an individual or team whose work has made extraordinary contributions to the United States Maritime Industry, including by pursuits in:
- innovative maritime vessel designs;
- innovative components, machinery or systems, making vessels better performing, more sustainable, or better value to the owner;
- innovative development or application of materials or technologies, improving vessel design, building, or operations; or
- innovations that make vessels or their systems more cost effective to build or operate.
- Any other Innovations deemed fit by the SNAME Awards Committee follow the intent of the above.
This new medal joins six other prestigious honors in SNAME’s Medal Program, continuing our tradition of recognizing excellence and impact across the Society.
